Wynonna Judd’s daughter, Grace Kelly, will have her baby behind bars. While the 30-year-old daughter of the country icon filed a request to be temporarily released from prison to give birth to her second child, the request was denied by a judge in July, according to court documents obtained by E! News August 27th.
Kelly is currently serving a 15-month sentence in Virginia’s Rockingham County Jail after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge of driving with a suspended or revoked license following her October 2025 arrest. The July 2nd filing, made on Kelly’s behalf, revealed she was pregnant and due to give birth on or about August 16th, 2026.
Her lawyer, Robert G. Monroe, asked that she be released from prison while she gives birth in a hospital where she would be confined to bed for 3 days following the birth. Monroe argued that keeping Kelly incarcerated during this time would complicate the delivery of the child, prevent the father of the baby, who was not identified, as well as other family members from being present or visiting Kelly, and would require a significant investment of time and resources from the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office to guard her while in
At the time, according to the filing, Captain Weimer of the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office supports a furlough for Kelly. The request, however, was denied by Judge Clark A. Ritchie. It has not been confirmed whether Kelly has since given birth. Wynonna’s daughter is also mom to 4-year-old Kaliyah Grace, to whom she gave birth while on a leave of absence from jail as she was serving time for a parole violation stemming from a 2016 arrest.
