Bakugan Shape Fury Leaked: A Look At The Cancelled 2024 Season Of Bakugan Gen 3

The Leaked Bakugan Generation 3 Season 2: Shape Fury, coming at you with another article. Last year, being 2024, was the year that Bakugan was cancelled once again. As we all know, Bakugan was rebooted for a second time, introducing what is known as Bakugan Generation 3, which was a weird mix-up of Bakugan fused with Beyblade. Just the brand itself seemed to have lost its identity with Generation 3, and what seemed like a panic move by Spin Master to try to reinvigorate and just try to artificially increase the toy sales by introducing a weird new gimmick into Bakugan.

The Fall of Generation 3

Gone were the days of attributes or elements from Gen 1 and Gen 2, where you had Pyrus, Aquos, Darkus, Haos, Subterra, and Ventus, or, if you’re in Gen 2, swap out Subterra for Aurelus. Gone were those days, introducing the clan system, where you have the Aquatic Clan for the aquatic creatures.

the Dragon Clan for the dragon creatures, the Insect Clan for the insects, and then the Misfit Clan for the misfits who don’t fit into any other clan or want to be their own clan, and there’s a bunch of other clans as well, but that’s just the gist of it. Well, that was all cancelled because it was an absolute, complete, and utter failure of a reboot, a complete and utter failure of a generation.

Discovery of Shape Fury Leak

But I actually discovered something today that is rather fascinating to me. So, as we all know, Bakugan Generation 3 served as the, you know, new reboot to the franchise after coming off of Bakugan Legends. They wanted to reinvent the franchise with this new, weird, Beyblade-like system with these Bakugan that spin like tops. Obviously, this wasn’t something that was planned to have one season, right? This was meant to be the new Bakugan going into the next couple of years.

Well, with that being said, apparently, Season 2 of Bakugan Gen 3 actually leaked. We actually have product images that people have gotten their hands on for Bakugan Generation 3’s second season, which would have been titled Bakugan Shape Fury.

This must have been really far along because, as I said before, for, and as you can see on screen now, there are packages out there for Bakugan Shape Fury with physical products in them. Like, you can get your hands on these toys on the secondhand market if someone happens to have taken them from the factory, which, it seems like a batch of them got out there.

Shape Fury Bakugan Details

Because, apparently, there’s a total of six Shape Fury Bakugan that are out in the wild, being Special Attack Bakugan: Shape Fury Dragonoid, Shape Fury Trox, Pen-G, and Razer. Again, all four of those are Special Attack. Then we have two Core Bakugan, which are Shape Fury Grizzles and Shape Fury Spidra. I haven’t been able to find an image of the toy for Grizzles, but I’m going to put the image up on screen now for the toys of the other ones.

And as you can see with this image, the gimmick for Shape Fury, and hence the name of the series being Shape Fury, is that these Bakugan take on the form of different shapes. They are no longer marble toys that you roll onto cards to pop open. No, now they are all different shapes and sizes that you, once again, have to roll on cards for them to pop open, even though a triangle can’t roll, so how exactly would that work? I don’t really know.

Impressions of Shape Fury Designs

But, nevertheless, I think that these actually look pretty cool. Like, I’m not going to lie to you guys, I actually wouldn’t mind getting my hands on these. And, quick side note, if anybody has any of these Shape Fury Bakugan, shoot me a note on Twitter. I’d love to buy them and get my hands on them. Maybe we can actually do a full, in-depth article on these, and just, I would love to have them in my personal collection.

But, nevertheless, these look pretty cool to me. I mean, from a gameplay perspective and from Bakugan as a brand, this makes very little sense, but I actually do think it looks rather cool, and I actually like it, which is, I know, controversial because I’ve seen a lot of people online saying that this is an abomination to Bakugan. But to me, it kind of just seems like, for Gen 3, the new traps or the new Geogan for, you know, Gens 1 and 2, respectively.

You know, Bakugan of different shapes, instead of making a sideline of Bakugan that, hey, this one’s a triangle and it’s a trap, or this one’s a cylinder and it’s a Geogan, they’re deciding, let’s just make them regular Bakugan and call them Shape Fury, that, oh, these are the Bakugan of different shapes.

It’s a new take on the whole trap system or Geogan system. Again, from a gameplay perspective, from the core aspect of Bakugan, this doesn’t make much sense, but then again, neither does any of Gen 3. It doesn’t make sense that Bakugan spin like Beyblade now, doesn’t make sense that you have to put rip cords into the bottom of them to spin them like tops. That never made sense. So, this is very well in line with what Gen 3 was.

Leaked Product Images

As we go through these images, as I said before, there are six total Bakugan that are out there. First up, here is Dragonoid. They have two images of him with his Galaxy version and his regular version, and these are all coming from PitFullCup1190 on Reddit, so shout out to them for actually getting their hands on this. Apparently, they spent 15 bucks on Mercari to buy these off of some families, so that’s pretty interesting. That’s how these got out into the wild.

But, yeah, we have Dragonoid here, who, you can see, has an interesting design. Again, it’s rather weird that these Bakugan aren’t spheres anymore. I don’t even know what shape Dragonoid is, it’s just some weird abomination, honestly. Then we have Razer, who, Razer actually does have a packaging as well attached to it, and Razer, it seems like, kind of looks like Killer Whale to me from Gen 2.

Again, looks rather cool, I like the color scheme of it, and also, as well, you can see with these Bakugan that those little midsections that are on the Special Attack Bakugan for you to spin them like tops, they actually have, it seems like, the clan symbol on them, and they are of a different shape than what we saw from the regular Season 1 Gen 3 Bakugan.

Next up, we have Pen-G, who, it kind of looks like an igloo, I guess, which is kind of fitting, given that it’s a penguin, so it turns into, like, this triangular igloo-type thing when you close it up. Again, this just is all rather strange to be seeing, but also, to me, I think it looks really cool at the same time. And, last but not least, for your Special Attack Bakugan, we have Trox, and Trox just looks like a dinosaur again, but this time around, it’s some weird shape, similar to what Dragonoid is. I don’t even know, again, what shape that is, but it’s rather strange.

And then, for the Core Bakugan, as I said before, Grizzles does not have an image that is out there that I can find, but Spidra does, and this is what Spidra looks like in Generation 3’s second season, Shape Fury. Shout out to CyofFrost on Reddit for posting these images online.

Gameplay Concerns and Brand Identity

And, yeah, that’s what we have for Shape Fury Bakugan, and, again, it’s a rather weird next step for the future of Bakugan because they are no longer marbles, which has literally been the core of the entire franchise. No, now they’re coming in different shapes and sizes, and they’re called Shape Fury Bakugan. I’m not exactly sure how, you know, the whole splitting-in-half gimmick would have worked this time around, ’cause, apparently, they do still split in half, but if they’re two different shapes, if you have one that’s a square and one that’s a triangle, how exactly are you going to mix and match them? I’m not really too sure about that.

But, nevertheless, that’s what they were going for with Shape Fury. And, yeah, I think this is kind of just the epitome of why Generation 3 failed, and that’s just because, as I said before in a recent article when we discussed why Generation 3 failed, Spin Master tried to make Bakugan something that it wasn’t. They tried to make it a rival to Beyblade because, oh, they spin like Beyblade now, and, in this case, they’re trying to make them into different shapes and sizes for what purpose? I don’t know.

I’m assuming, from a gameplay perspective, this would have had nothing to do with the gameplay. It’s just, hey, these are toys that look pretty cool, let’s just make them and see how they sell. It’s rather unfortunate that these never actually made their way to store shelves because I would love to get my hands on these. As I said before, if you happen to own some of these and you’re looking to sell them, hit me up on Twitter. I’d love to buy them or leave a comment in the comment section of this article and let me know. Hopefully, I see it, and we can make something work out there.

Reflection on Generation 3’s Failure

But, yeah, again, this is just a rather weird direction that the second season of Generation 3 was taking, titled Shape Fury. Anyways, let me know down in the comment section below what you guys think about all this. What do you guys think about Bakugan Shape Fury as the second season of Gen 3? I’m kind of curious, if this was their take on traps or Geogan in Gen 3, what would Battle Gear or the armor looked like in Generation 3 for a third season? Would it have just been something that was built into the Bakugan themselves? Of course, we’re never going to know, ’cause we’re not getting a third season for Gen 3, we’re not even getting Season 2, Shape Fury.
